What To Expect
The First Visit - Your Initial Consultation
It is the aim at Dr. Jenner's Chiropractic studio to make all new patients feel comfortable and heard. The necessary paperwork will be emailed to you; please complete and return before your appointment. Dr. Nathan will then be able to review your health concerns and history beforehand and therefore be able to spend your entire visit on how he can best help you.
Once you arrive, Dr. Nathan will greet you personally; then you can sit down and discuss your case, as well as address any concerns you may have.
Given that the evidenced based chiropractic approach may be different from previous treatments you have sought, Dr. Nathan may share some useful concepts with you. He will clarify what the latest science and evidence has found that causes spinal and musculoskeletal problems and how applying this information will be beneficial to you and your recovery.
If following this discussion he thinks that Chiropractic could help in your case, he will conduct a thorough physical assessment. A typical physical assessment includes; assessing your posture, range of movement, relevant functional, orthopedic and neurological tests, as well as a detailed palpatory examination (feeling the problem areas) to determine what needs to be corrected.
In most cases, X-Rays, MRI scans or other imaging are not required. However, if clinically indicated, he can refer you to the appropriate radiology centre.*
Once all relevant diagnostic tests are complete, treatment may commence on this visit. You should allow an hour for your first visit.
On the completion of this visit, you will receive a personalised Spinal Health Assessment report. This easy to read and understand report will outline your problem areas, what needs to be corrected and what most likely caused or contributed to your complaint. Most importantly this report describes what you can do to aid your recovery.

The Second Visit - The Results of Your Tests
On your second visit, your Chiropractor will discuss the results of your initial examination and personalised printed report, in simple language that is easy to understand.
If Spinal X rays or further tests were needed, you would be walked through each of these with an explanation of how this is relevant to your case and presenting concerns or problems.
After any further questions or concerns have been addressed; your chiropractor will outline recommendations needed to resolve your problem.
This visit will also include scheduling or frequency of your adjustments. There may also be some home care recommendations and stretching or exercises advice specific to your case.
The basis of these recommendations is from latest science and evidence concerning expected healing and repair time for the relevant injured tissues. Consideration is also made to your functional capacity as tested on your physical examination, your age, pain severity and duration, and the presence of any other complicating factors such as degenerative changes or pathology.
Please allow 30 minutes for your second visit.
